I was in the process of writing my latest drabble for [livejournal.com profile] hardtime100 when I decided to watch the folllowing deleted scene from Cuts Like a Knife for inspiration:

I've always been disappointed with their decision to cut this scene, because it gives so much information with respect to the status of B/K's relationship at this point in time. (During my initial watch of the show, I found the jump from Toby informing Chris of Ronnie's betrayal to their heartfelt talk about Toby sacrificing himself to save Holly to be really jarring). Plus, that kiss on the back of Chris's neck! SWOON. How could they cut THAT? The editors must have been CRAZY, because surely there were other scenes that could've been removed if time was an issue.

But after watching the clip this time, what stands out more than anything to me is the GLARING grammatical error in the dialouge.

Beecher: Lot of questions about you and he.

You and he? *twitches* You and HE? WTF. I now think the reason they cut it was because they were too embarrassed to let such a mistake slip through to broadcast.

I refuse to believe that Lee read the line incorrectly, but I also can't believe that Tom Fontana, one of the greatest writers in TV history and the writer of this episode, made this grade-school level mistake in basic pronoun usage. Maybe he had some careless intern typing up the script from his hand-written legal notepad. One who was 12 years old.

SHEESH.
