Homicide Update!
Mar. 13th, 2018 02:17 pmI'm halfway through Season 3 now, and last night I about jumped out of my chair when Robert "SexyCop" Clohessy started off the episode I was watching! I DID NOT KNOW HE HAD MADE A GUEST APPEARANCE ON THIS SHOW. Which, in hindsight, I should have expected, because I think nearly everyone from Oz appeared on this show at one point or another.
Unfortunately, his character turned out to be a wife-beater, so that sort of sucked. I guess his Sean Murphy will remain unchallenged as a shining example of all that is good and pure in the world.
Dean Winters and Kristen Rohde have also made appearances this season (Dean as a guest star and Kristen as a recurring background character). Dean looked very Beverly Hills 90210-ish.
I'm also starting to see some slashiness between Tim Bayliss and Frank Pembleton, thanks to
mazephoenix! Last night Tim told Frank that he was his best friend! Awwww. ♥

This also reminds me of something...
I was fan of Hill Street Blues when it originally aired, and my favorite characters were Joe Coffey (played by the super-hunky Ed Marinaro) and Lucy Bates (played by super-talented Betty Thomas). They were partners who had an on again/off again relationship, IIRC. I used to ship them, which seems funny to me now (I used to ship het couples?).

Anyway, Ed Marinaro left the show at the end of Season 6, and for Season 7 they brought in this new character, Patrick Flaherty, who was clearly meant to take Coffey's place in every way. But the new guy (both character and actor) paled in comparison to Joe/Ed, and I HATED HIM. First, they tried to pair Flaherty with Lucy and I resented that, then they tried to pair him with some other female cop intended to replace Lucy and I hated them both. Thankfully, the show ended after that season, so I didn't have to suffer very long.
Fast forward 20+ years to me falling in love with Sean Murphy, and imagine my surprise when I did some research and discovered that he was played by the same guy I'd hated on Hill Street Blues. HA!

I think mostly he just needed to lose the cheesy mustache.
