Fontana was a master at manipulating viewers' feelings. Some characters you'd like, but then they'd do something horrible; some characters you'd hate, but then they'd do something wonderful. That uncertainty is one of reasons why I kept watching (and why I'm willing to overlook the aging pills storyline :D).
