I've always been intrigued by the disparity between how much self-confidence Ryan has in his professional career vs. his private life. I liked the idea of his Media Overlord attitude eventually bleeding over into personal life. There were even indications that something like that was actually happening during Ryan and Simon's last season together on Idol, when Simon often acted like a frightened little boy during the fake engagement fiasco, yet Ryan had a great attitude and seemed to be completely at peace.
